Rosicky and Mertesacker Secure New Contracts.

Good morning Gunners! I am so happy because today is my birthday and TR7+BFG have Signed Da Thing.
We've gotten something to console ourselves after the weekend's loss. Two of our stars Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky have signed new contracts at Arsenal.

Mertesacker who joined Arsenal from German league club, Werder Bremen in the 2011 summer transfer window has now agreed to stay much longer at the Emirates. His first season at the North-London side was one which was taken with mixed feeling from fans as he did not fit into the team so quick. The story had changed after then. I want to assume everyone of you know his central defensive partnership with Laurent Koscielny has been the best for some seasons now. Per has featured in 39 of Arsenal's 42 games this season. In summation he has made 110 appearances since signing two seasons ago.

Last week Wenger revealed that Rosicky the Little Mozat would soon pen a new deal. It's already done. The former Dortmund man has never hidden his desire to end his career with us and once again he has shown his loyalty. Lest I forget his goal against Sunderland was voted the Arsenal Goal of the Month for February.

Even though the club's official website did not give any details of the deals some external sources are claiming Rosicky's is a one-year contract extension.

The Czech international feels Arsenal is the right place for him to be and hopes to win some trophies in his last few years at the club.

“I’m very happy that I’m staying here, he told Arsenal Player. I can say that I’m proud that I’m still here after such a long time and that it still continues so I’m glad I’m here.”

"Ever since I came here, I always felt that I'm at the right place where I want to be. I still feel that way now and as I said, I'm proud that after such a long time I'm still here and will continue.

"One big factor is that I want to win the league with Arsenal. It's my big goal and I will do everything that I can to achieve it. I've said many times that I believe that we are strong enough."

Per had no second thought in deciding whether to extend his contract or not. He said it was an easy decision for him and hopes to continue being influential on the rest of his teammates. The player who acts as captain whenever Vermaelen and Arteta are not playing said:

"It was easy for me to commit myself to the Club,"

"I have been here for two and a half lovely years, with full support and full dedication from a lot of people, so I am really looking forward to having more years coming up with this fantastic club. I think we have a great team and we want to build on our current success."

"I tried to be comfortable with the game we play and the Premier League, and afterwards I really tried to be the right addition to influence the team, to put my full commitment in," continued Mertesacker.

"When I think something goes wrong, or that we need to be aware of a situation that my experience has shown over my 10 years in professional football, I have to go and tell. That is what I am doing at the moment.

"It took me a while to realise I can be a main part of this squad. Now I want to show that. We need to get everyone ready at this club and get the best out of everyone. There is the right balance in this squad and everyone takes their place."

Who’s next?? Sagna I guess. I learnt over the weekend that Sagna after the Stoke defeat told his teammates he was going to leave at the end of the season. I just pray it isn’t true.
