The French international is one of those players who had been on Wenger's radar for so long but his transfer policy of not spending too much on players is the major reason why he failed to get him in the past. The last two transfer window saw the want-away Madrid striker being heavily linked with a potential move to the Emirates Stadium but nothing good materialised from Arsenal's approach.
