8th Feb, 2014: Liverpool vs Arsenal - Match Preview.

It's Matchday again and many (including non-Arsenal fans) can't wait for the game to kick-off at lunchtime. Saturday's clash at Anfield is crucial in deciding the fate of both teams in their pursuit of EPL glory and as such, we are all expecting to see a tight game.

Arsenal and Liverpool have not lost any game in 2014 so far. Who'll be out victorious today or will the points be shared? Some will say (as many are already saying) that Arsenal will lose to Liverpool as they wouldn't be able to withstand SAS (Suarez and Sturridge). I think such people have forgotten so quick what happened when we played the Reds in the first half of the season. Moreover, Liverpool haven't won any Premier League game against Arsenal since March 2007. I was still in SS1 then.

"Records are meant to be broken" they say but we all know what's at stake if Arsenal loses today. The Gunners are just two points clear at the top of the table. Wins from Chelsea and Manchester City will throw Arsenal to 4th position and I do not think Arsene Wenger and his boys would want that to happen. Liverpool have recorded wins against all their immediate rivals this season but have failed to get any point against the teams above them. Arsenal are the only team to have stopped Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge from scoring in the last 12 league games they played together. Also Liverpool's 2-0 loss to Arsenal in November 2013 was the last game in which they were unable to find the back of the net.

TEAM NEWS
Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are both ruled out of today's game. Reports say they will be back in training early next week. Jose Enrique, Mamadou Sakho and Lucas Leiva are also not available.

For Arsenal, Jack Wilshere is expected to feature in the clash. He has been passed fit by Arsene Wenger and the club's medical team while Mathieu Flamini is still out due to a four-match suspension he received against Southampton last week. Today will be his second miss as a result of that red card. Artteta limped off towards the end of our win against Crystal palace but is okay to start.

Lastly Bacary Sagna will make his 200th appearance for Arsenal in our game against Liverpool. Carl Jenkinson's birthday is today. Wishing them all the best.

Over to you my master. What's your take on today's game?
