Arsenal Set Aside £100 million for Summer Transfer Activities.

Arsene Wenger will be given £100 million to spend on transfers in the coming summer window, reports The Telegraph.

.In recent years the Arsenal manager has not really been so active when it comes to bringing in big names and this has caused a lot of complaints from fans who believe the club's inability to spend big is the reason why they have won no major trophy in the last eight seasons. Mesut Ozil's signing from Real Madrid is the club;s highest since its establishment. With the latest findings, things might just turn around as the club are now in a very strong financial position.

Arsenal Set Aside £100 million for Summer Transfer Activities.

Those fans who are aware of what the Emirates Stadium project entailed would agree it would had been a disaster if Arsenal had been imitating fellow league rivals, Manchester City and Chelsea on the transfer front. Before now we had debts to pay but at the moment I think we are done with the settlement. A lot has also been generated from sponsorship deals and property sales which means as from next year, we will be one of the few European clubs to generate £300 million a year.

Arsenal will have a cash reserve of about £140 million by the end of the season and as such has increased its annual wage bill to £165 million. It should be noted though that the £100 million which will be made available to the manager includes the wages of any player that joins the team during the next transfer window.

Meanwhile Wenger is still on the verge of extending his stay at Arsenal. He has turned down approaches from the club asking them to wait till the end of the season. I guess he wants to focus on his job and discuss contract issues later. There is no doubt he is going to sign so no cause for alarm.
