Last summer the Gunners were the most likely side to get the services of the 20-year old not until his club decided they were not willing to sell him out. When the January transfer window was on Arsenal were unable to meet up with the asking price for the young German and this fueled interest from Bayern who were said to be ready to snatch the wizkid.
It has however been revealed in a recent statement from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that the current Champions League holders have ruled a move for Draxler out of their plans.
"We are not buying any player from Dortmund or Schalke just to hurt these clubs, the club chairman told Die Welt am Sonntag.
"We are just buying players who can give FC Bayern more quality straight away. I can rule out that we will sign Julian Draxler in the summer."
Arsenal will make another bid by the time the next window opens. With the German side now out of the race Arsene Wenger would have to splash the cash if he is to sign Draxler. Trying to bring the asking price too low will cause other clubs to come in which might mean he'll lose another long time target after Eden Hazard and Juan Mata. £37million is the price contained in Julian's release clause.
