FA Cup Semi-Final: Stop Celebrating and Face Reality.

The moment we beat Everton to qualify for the semi-final of the FA Cup, the next question on the lips of every Arsenal supporter was "Who are we gonna draw in the next round?"

Knowing quite well that we and Manchester City were the only top clubs remaining in the competition, many feared we could be drawn with Pellegrini's side as no one expected them to crash out against a lower division side yesterday. This same team snatched the title from them in the previous season though. Many were saying they do not want us to face the Etihad outfit and as such wanted to play a lesser team. At that point I just did some thinking and concluded I would be satisfied with anyone given to us. Okay let us look at it this way. Let's say City beat Wigan yesterday and were drawn with Hull and we got Sheffield, we have escaped them in the semis, right? City then beat Hull while we also beat Sheffield and both move to the final. Do we have a choice this time?

Arsenal to Play Wigan in FA Cup Semi-Final.

The draws were made while the Man City vs Wigan game was still in its first half and we were to face the winner of that encounter. You never expected the match to end in favour of Wigan, did you? There were a lot of lamentations as to why Arsenal were handed such an opponent but fortunately, current holders of the title did us a favour by demolishing the 2014 Capital One Cup Champions 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Though our biggest threat might had been knocked-out, I am still wary of Wigan who many think would be a walkover. Some have begun screaming as if we have won the trophy already but I will let you know that a team who trashed City at home are not one to toil with. Before yesterday, only Barcelona, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have beaten them there this season. We have to play them as if we are playing a team like Real Madrid and I know at the end we will come out triumphant. We shouldn't forget so soon what happened to us against Birmingham some seasons ago.

In your own opinion what do you think it will be like to play Wigan? Will they be an easy nut to crack or not.? Let's hear your thoughts. Just drop your comments below.
