Abou Diaby Plays 45 minutes Against Chelsea.

Abou Diaby made a return back to the pitch after over a year of absence as a result of severe knee injury. He was used in last night's game between Arsenal Under-21s and Chelsea Under-21s at the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman played for 45 minutes before being replaced by Ansah. Arsenal lost 2-1 to the Blues after taking the lead, courtesy Hector Bellerin's magnificient strike. The Gunners were the better side but were unlucky to have lost the game in such a manner. Leading 1-0 at half-time Arsenal crashed as they conceded twice, first in the 68th minute and later in the 86th minute to see their hopes of finishing in the top half of the table dealt a heavy blow.

Diaby impressed in his first appearance since March 2013 as he crafted some neat passes and also won some duels. He is likely to get some play time in the senior team before the season finally shuts. The injury-prone midfielder said he has not yey given up on being included in France's team to contest at the World Cup in Brazil.

Carl Jenkinson and Gedion Zelalem also featured but the latter was a late substitute in that encounter.
