Arsenal Striker Vows to Remain at Club.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed he will remain and fight on at the club until he is told to do otherwise.

During a television programme, (Telefoot) the French international striker declared his desire to stay till his current contract expires despite speculations suggesting he is prepared to leave the Emirates.

“I have a contract until 2016 and that is what I want. You should not listen to the media,” the former Montpellier man said.

Asked about reports claiming his wife gave him an ultimatum to return to France or else their relationship would come to an end, Giroud replied by saying he was more concerned about Arsenal and would love to contribute immensely to see them at next season's UEFA Champions League tournament.

“The main objective is to finish fourth. It’s been 17 years that the team qualifies for the Champions League, I don’t want to be in the generation that misses it. Champions League is vital for the club,” he said.

Having qualified to play in the final of the FA Cup, Arsenal now have an opportunity to end their eight years wait for a trophy and the 27-year old believes it will be a thing of joy to the fans if the side beat Wigan who are the current holders to claim the trophy which they last won in 2005.

“The FA Cup final is also an important trophy for the fans; they have been waiting for a trophy for a long time,” he concluded.

Olivier Giroud has been heavily criticized by fans for his numerous loss of chances in front of goal as they keep screaming he is not good enough to lead the attack of a team like Arsenal. However, his contributions to the team is something one cannot shove aside. 14 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances is not a bad feat for a striker of his caliber.
