The Spaniard has voiced out his disappointment over Arsenal's display in competitions of late. According to him the Gunners lack the mentality possessed by teams like Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea. In this regards he admitted he might have to look elsewhere in his pursuit of silverware which means despite him penning a new deal not too long ago, he would still have to depart if he does not get what he desires.
“We haven’t got a winning mentality and we have to believe in ourselves (more),” the 29-year-old was quoted by the Telegraph.
“I want titles and that is why I came to Arsenal.
“Every football player wants to win titles. We’ve gone many years without winning one.
“And if not, what I’ll look for in my next destination is to have the chance to win.”
A loss to Everton last Sunday totally ruled out Arsenal as EPL title contenders for the season. A Champions League spot for the coming campaign is not even certain for Arsene Wenger's men. This weekend's semi-final FA Cup game against Wigan would go a long way in deciding if Arsenal would be able to convince players like Cazorla and Sagna to stay or not. Should Arsenal win and progress to the final, then that's good for them but if it happens otherwise then only God knows what will happen next. Qualifying for the final is not even enough. They just have to win it in order to end the nine year wait for glory.
Santi Cazorla who made a £12 million switch from Malaga in 2012 has bagged 18 goals and 19 assists in 89 appearances in all competitions for the North-Londoners. It would be a pain in the ass of the Gunners if they lose a player who has already sealed his place in their starting lineup.
