It was a honour well deserved as Arsenal came from behind to claim the 2014 FA Cup Trophy after going on a nine-year drought which started in 2005. Hull grabbed an early lead having bagged two goals in the first nine minutes.
Not too long after Hull scored their second goal Santi Cazorla gave the Gunners hope by making it 2-1 from a freekick. The first half ended in that way. Arsenal's play improved in the second half. The equaliser came in the 71st minute when Laurent Koscielny put the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-2. Full-time could not decide the winner so there was the need to move on to extra-time which saw the introduction of Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky whose efforts turned things around. It looked as if a penalty shoot-out was going to be an option not until Aaron Ramsey's wonder strike sealed victory for Arsenal.
At least we can now say 'We did it'. While we are rejoicing, some haters are out there biting their fingers. They all wanted us to lose this opportunity but unfortunately for them, the God of Soccer was with us. Some are even saying it is just an FA Cup trophy. Why didn't their teams win it if it was such a very easy task. Lest I forget, Mourinho tagged Wenger 'a specialist in failure'. He (Talkinho) ended up winning nothing while Wenger won the 2014 FA Cup. Who now is the failure specialist?
Arsenal is the first team to win the new version of the FA Cup Trophy.
