Arsenal Sign Calum Chambers.

Rumours of Thomas Vermaelen's possible departure from the Emirates have become rampant as it is being reported that Arsenal have signed Chalum Chambers from Southampton.

Arsenal Sign Calum Chambers

Since the World Cup ended, tabloids have been claiming the Arsenal captain who has struggled to regain his place in the Gunners' first team is being considered by Manchester United. Now that a €20 million fee has been agreed by Arsenal for the 19-year old England international, the news of Vermalean’s move to Old Trafford may be true afterall.

Chambers is a right-back who can also play in central defence and as a midfielder. He is a top prospect who has caught the attention of Spurs and Liverpool but unfortunately for these Premier League sides the starlet chose the FA Cup holders saying he prefers a spell under Arsene Wenger. He never had a second thought before accepting such an offer although he still had four years on his current contract.

According to Goal, he has already undergone a medical prior to signing a deal with the North-Londoners which will see the Saints get an upfront of €13 million. This dude has played more games for the England U17 and U19 side than he has done for Southampton which is a sign that he is a star to watch out for in years to come.

Chambers will be the fourth player to leave St. Mary’s this summer with Lallana, Lambert and Shaw already out of the club.
Official announcements for the deals of David Ospina and Chalum Chambers are what we are still waiting for. Maybe by the time the club returns from the USA, we would get a confirmation.
