Arsene Wenger Rejected Italian Striker Twice.

The Daily Star reported on Sunday morning that Liverpool's latest signing, Mario Balotelli could have joined Arsenal only if they wanted him at the Emirates Stadium.

According to the source, Arsene Wenger's first refusal to pounce on the former Manchester City man came during the Brazil 2014 World Cup, at a time when the Italian star was demanding at least £160,000-a-week from any club who wanted his services. After Italy crashed out of the competition, Balotelli dropped it down to £90,000-a-week but Wenger gave no attention to this opportunity even when Puma proposed to provide financial support to enable the deal go through.

One could conclude that the reason for this is because Mario has a vast record of indiscipline which the Frenchman would not be willing to tolerate. He instead went for Alexis Sanchez and right now Rodgers has signed 'Mad Mario' for the Reds. It should be noted though that there were a couple of clauses which were included in the agreement to compel ethical behavior from the forward. He will be due for severe punishment if he misbehaves during his reign at Anfield.

I do not know what the reactions of Arsenal fans will be after learning of their manager’s neglect of Balotelli. Those of them who do not like stubborn and disrespectful people will surely not go mad at this news but those who care less about players’ attitude as long as they are doing well will be angry with the club’s boss because the Italian international is a reliable striker who would have put an end to the difficulty the Gunners are currently facing in front of goal. For me I have nothing against Wenger’s will. He knows what is good and what is bad so he should have the freedom to decide what he wants.  It would not be healthy to bring in a player who would cause disunity in the squad. What do you think?
