To miss the Everton game for sure is Mikel Arteta who suffered an ankle injury in the Gunners' 0-0 draw against Besiktas of Turkey in Tuesday's Champions League qualifiers first leg tie. No specific return date was given by the manager but the Spanish midfielder will not leave North-London for Merseyside this weekend.
Apart from Arteta, there were no other casualties from the Besiktas game. All those who played that game are okay.
Our German trio, Per Mertesacker , Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil who were World Cup finalists for their national team returned to the club later than their counterparts. This was as a result of the additional holiday given to them so as to ease off the stress accumulated throughout Brazil 2014. They returned not too long ago and have not played any game for Arsenal this season. According to Wenger, he earlier gave a target for them to return against Everton but he will still have to assess them to ascertain if they would be fit to feature. All the same, he is not going to take the risk of playing the three at once since they are match rusty.
For Kieran Gibbs he is out for about three weeks. That's all!!
