After sealing a loan move for Radamel Falcao, Van Gaal told Welbeck he could leave as the England striker is not in his plans for the present season. At first, a loan deal was what the club wanted but the 23-year-old said he would prefer going on a permanent move.
Welbeck has been permitted to leave the England national team camp to complete his medical in North-London pending his transfer. He is expected to agree personal terms after the exercise.
Arsenal who are in serious need of a striker can now rely on Danny in the absence of Olivier Giroud who is out for about four months.
Fans who have learnt of this transfer have started pouring out insults at Arsene Wenger for paying such a huge amount for someone they see as not much better than Giroud. Some are saying he should have spent that amount on either Balotelli or Remy. I am also baffled at the amount of money spent on Welbeck. Maybe our manager's decision would be justified by the time the Man United want-away forward starts playing for us but until then, I am still speechless.
