It takes wisdom to decode the message Alexis Sanchez has passed to Arsene Wenger in a chat with the club's official website.
The Chilean international who completed a £32million move from Barcelona in the summer has indirectly sent a warning to his coach. He said that he hates being benched or substituted from games because doing such makes him unhappy.
“I can run and cut inside on my left foot, but any position is good for me as long as I’m playing football because I hate being on the bench”, Alexis said.
“If you take me off it’s like you’re taking the ball off me.”
Sanchez went on to debunk claims that the current Arsenal team lacks quality and is not capable of winning any major trophy. To him, his side has got what it takes to challenge and win laurels.
“Compared to the other leagues I’ve played in, I think this is the hardest and I like it a lot, I really do”, the Chilean continued.
“Before I signed, people had told me about how Arsenal were a big club with lots of quality players. Now I’m here I look at all the players during training and realise just what fantastic quality they all have.”
“I want to win everything. Looking at the coaches and players we have, with a winning attitude and ambition, we can win absolutely anything.”
