Reports out there in Spain are suggesting that Arsenal are likely to sign Suarez by the time the January transfer window opens.
If you were thinking it was Luis Suarez then you have to get a rethink. Mario Suarez is the one being linked. A reputable journalist Eduardo Inda revealed this and eversince, the news of Arsenal's possible acquisition of the Atletico Madrid midfielder has spread like wildfire.
With captain Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere all out through injury, the Gunners are short in midfield and Wenger would be looking to make one or two additions to his ranks.
Suarez has hardly seen playtime under Diego Simeone this season and he will be happy to make a switch to North-London if approached. He will be more of a short-term option because the Gunners are more interested in getting Benfica's William Carvalho latest by next summer. Talks are in progress with Atletico Madrid.
Wenger is also looking for a defender who will serve as a backup for Laurent Koscielny who has been out for a long period this term. Though he has returned from injury, no one can tell what will happen in the next few weeks so it will be safe to sign a deputy.
