Arsenal Progress in the Champions League After 4 1 Victory at Istanbul.

Galatasaray 1 4 Arsenal

What a nice way to respond after a disgraceful weekend away at Stoke! Arsenal secured a comfortable victory at the Istanbul last night as they played their last game of the Champions League group stage.

Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey who both scored two goals each ensured that the Gunners ended up with thirteen points from Group D, the same as group leaders Borussia Dortmund. The first half ende 3-0 but what made it different from the Stoke game was that all the goals at halftime belonged to Arsenal. Heheheh!!

They set about their undertaking with relish, thundering into Galatasaray straight from commencement and going ahead just three minutes into the game through a Lukas Podolski thunderbolt.

They never thought back. Before long they were two up with scarcely 10 minutes played after Ramsey scored from inside the region.

Anyway if that [Ramsey's first] had been a decent strike, his second was absolutely dynamite. After Joel Campbell's corner had been cleared by Semih Kaya, Ramsey - completely 30 yards out - hustled on to the detached ball and unleashed a shocking left-footed volley into the top corner. It was amazing.

Sneijder scored a late consolation goal for the hosts but Podolski got provoked and decided to make it four. I guess that served as a punishment for Galatasaray for making Arsenal not get a clean sheet. Lol

It was a memorable night. At least the fans were made to smile again after what I term a horrific weekend on the road.
