Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been named the Premier League’s best player for the first half of the season.
The Chilean international who made a switch from Barcelona to North-London last summer secured 44% of votes from the Sky Sports social media poll. Sanchez was able to shove off competition from former Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, current league top goal scorer, Sergio Aguero, David De Gea and others even though his side have struggled so much in this present campaign.
The 26-year-old has no doubt been the reason why Arsene Wenger’s men have got some hopes of finishing in top four this season. He has bagged a total of 15 goals in all competition which is one yardstick that justifies his winning of the accolade.
Some critics still think he did not deserve it though. That is not abnormal because behind every successful man there is a big bunch of haters waiting to pull him down.
Alexis had previously won the Vitality Player of the Month Awards for September, October and November. He was also adjudged the PFA Fans Player of the Month of November before going on to top the chart in Arsenal’s Goal of the Month contest that same month.
