Arsenal Successfully Complete First January Transfer Deal.

Arsenal have successfully completed their first transfer deal in the January transfer window which officially opened today, January 3. It is not what you're thinking though.

An outgoing move has seen Arsenal striker, Lukas Podolski sign a 6-month loan deal with Inter Milan. This will see him at the club till at least the end of the present campaign. There is also an option to make the deal permanent which Internazionale will likely do if the German star impresses.

The 2014 World Cup winner after being starved of playtime showed his disgust and after talks with the club, one of Arsene Wenger's best players was thrown out to a club who knows his worth.

Confirming the news Inter tweeted saying: “22:05: here’s @Podolski10 shortly after landing in Milan #FCIM.”

Not too long after that, the 29-year-old who has once played for Cologne and Bayern Munich expressed joy over the success of the transfer.

“I am very happy [to be joining Inter]. I expect so much from this adventure. I know the Italian league very well. We are aiming to qualify for the Champions League and to win in the Europa League. I have spoken with Roberto Mancini, I think he is a great coach,” Podolski stated.

Roberto Mancini revealed he has been a long time admirer of Podolski and that his arrival at the club will be a boost in their quest for glory.

"I know him quite well as a player, I followed him at Arsenal and at Bayern before," he said in a Q & A session on Twitter.

"He's a strong player, natually left-sided. He would be a great reinforcement."

Arsenal fans are saddened over the decision to let Podolski leave. The WengerOut campaign has even become more tense on social media after the German's departure from the Emirates Stadium.

  1. I am not so Sad over podolski transfer because he hasnt done much nor given enough chance to prove hes got the fire power in him. Often times we had seen wicker players play more than this FIREMAN.
I expected Arsenal First transfer to be WENGER OUT not any player. Cambel should have his chance at the FA cup.

    1. Some fans say he was sold because he does not fit our style. That he fails to defend like some others in the team do.
