Lukas Podolski Set to Leave Arsenal in Next 48hours.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is expected to leave the club in the next 48hours, according to reports.

The German international have struggled hard to become a regular in the team and has shown during the few opportunities given to him that he is a deadly finisher. No one has the slightest understanding as to why Arsene Wenger keeps starting him from the bench when he is far better than some regulars.

This has brought a lot of concern for the former Cologne star who wants to play frequently. He has openly complained to pressmen on two different occasion in the space of three months. His remarks during those interviews showed that he is not happy with the treatment he is receiving under the Arsenal boss and this brought up speculations that he is being considered for a switch by Inter Milan.

Asked about Podolski's link with Inter Milan few days ago, Arsene Wenger said that all those news out there were mere frameups, branding the interest of the Serie A giant 'a joke'.

However, there is a strong possibility that Podolski would have joined Inter Milan by the time Arsenal face Hull in the FA Cup on Sunday. The Serie A giants have made an increased offer for a loan move which will likely result into a £5million permanent deal as time goes on.

Arsene Wenger also spoke on the possibility of the deal going through.

"The first proposal was farcical; after they came back a bit more serious", said Wenger.

"We will see what happens. Inevitable? Not in the transfer market. It's very difficult to say, but we'll see."

An Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the 29-year-old is prepared to take a pay cut if that will save him from sitting on the bench at Arsenal.

Yesterday, an update on the Mirror stated that Podolski got fed up and angrily left the training ground. In response to this, the German international disclosed it was a lie because he was not even on the training ground at all. According to him, he was indoors with the Arsenal medical team throughout the session - the more reason why he was not on the bench against Southampton.
