MEDICAL PASSED: Arsenal About to Complete Midfielder Deal.

After lots of news sources linked Krystian Bielik with a possible move to North-London, the Legia Warsaw youngster has finally passed a medical at Arsenal on Friday and should complete a deal with the club anytime from Monday.

The transfer was confirmed on Legia Warsaw's official website on Thursday and the Polish star is expected to immediately break into the first team considering injuries to major DMs. Arsenal shoved competition from Hamburg to agree a fee of £2.5million which may rise to £3.5million on add-ons.

Bielik is a 17-year-old defensive midfielder who Arsene Wenger has brought in to offer some cover in midfield. It is glaring that Arsenal have suffered a lot this season all because we have got no reliable player in that position and fans cried out for someone to be added there by the time the transfer window opens. Funny enough, Wenger as usual has gone to sign someone who is supposed to be a player for the future. This is not what the fans want and I am so sure they would not rejoice over the completion of this deal.

Bielik who has featured twice for the Poland U16 side and made five first team appearances for Legia Warsaw admitted in a chat with a Polish newspaper that he is not yet ripe to be called into the first team.

“I’m going to London to fulfill my dreams. I want to prove to the manager that he did not make a mistake by signing me, but it does not mean that my goal is playing in the first team right away. I’m not ready yet,” said the starlet.

But Wenger at his pre-match Press Conference today revealed he will bring in the midfielder straight into the first team even though he stated he is taking a gamble which might eventually pay off.

“Yes, he will go into the first-team squad. He’s a defensive midfielder, 6ft 2, he has a good energy level and technical level," said the Frenchman.

“It’s a gamble but, on what we saw, it’s worth to take the gamble. It’s an awful lot of money for a player if he doesn’t succeed. If he does succeed, then it’s cheap.”

We will now have to see how things work out for this lad. Would Wenger be proud he signed him or will it be the fans blaming their coach for signing a player who has little experience at the top? We shall soon know. No one is saying that Bielik is a poor player. I am aware Wenger has a good eye for such prospects but making the acquisition of such youngsters a priority at such a time when the club needs to save its ass from woe is so ridiculous. All the same, we wish him success during his time with us.

  1. Bielik won't play for Arsenal this spring.
He just came from vacation and he needs some time.
