Arsenal have signed a forward named Chioma Ubogagu from Stanford University in the Unired States of America.

The United States youth international has proved herself to be fit for the Arsenal Ladies side having clinched a super record of 27 goals and 37 assists from her 89 appearances during her four-year stay at the college. She currently sits in fourth position on the all-time Stanford assist list. She was the school team's captain in her final year.

For some Nigerians who might be reading this right now, I know what is lingering on your mind. You are like: 'Chioma Ubogagu is a Nigerian name so how did she get that name if she isn't from Nigeria?' Well, her grandfather is from Nigeria and he was once a player in the Nigerian national team.

Arsenal Ladies manager, Pedro Martinez Losa was happy to welcome her to the club and below was what she had to say:

“Chioma is a player I have known about from my time coaching in the United States and she is a fantastic talent. She is very creative, and is able to make goals as well as score them. I think that she will fit in very well with us.”
