Riot at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal Trash Aston Villa.

It was all Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon as we witnessed the brutal demolition of Aston Villa. 5-0 was the final score, courtesy goals from Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Hector Bellerin. It was a goal riot.

We opened goalscoring in the 8th minute when Mesut Ozil made an improvised flick to set up Olivier Giroud who did well to clip over Guzan into the back of the net. Arsenal could have added more in the first half but unfortunately, chances from Koscielny, Giroud etc. were not well converted. Ozil then put one in before half-time but it was adjudged an offside against Cazorla. The score was 1-0 at the break.

The second half kicked off and in the 56th minute, the adage ‘one good turn deserves another’ came to manifestation as Giroud who gave Arsenal the lead earlier in the game through an Ozil assist paid back the favour. The Arsenal striker played through Ozil and the German did well to tuck it into the corner to make it a two-goal lead for the Gunners.

Shortly afterwards, Theo Walcott extended the lead. He broke from the halfway line, played a one-two with Santi Cazorla before curling a shot into the far corner just like Ozil did. Substitution followed. Walcott was dropped for Rosicky while Giroud was dropped for Chuba Akpom who played a vital role in Arsenal’s fourth goal.

Having spent less than five minutes on the pitch, Akpom made a run into the box only for Guzan to bring him down. The referee pointed to the spot and Cazorla sent the penalty in. Hector Belerin then wrapped it all with a low shot from the edge of the box. Cazorla owns the assist for that goal.

5-0 was the score. No Sanchez but we still recorded a comfortable win. At least those who term us ‘a one man team’ can now go to bed in shame. Three points in the goody bag. Another clean sheet from David Ospina. Our opponents haven’t scored Arsenal in the last four games Ospina played in. I love this guy. He is composed. Thumbs up to our defence too.

Cazorla was superb! Getting a goal and two assists in a single match isn't a minor feat. Hope he keeps going in that momentum.
