Arsenal Begin Negotiations to Sign £10m-Rated Star.

Arsenal have opened negotiations with Chelsea in their bid to sign Czech international goalkeeper, Petr Cech. The 33-year-old has been given the go-ahead to talk to any interested clubs and in recent days, Arsenal has been tagged 'favourites' for the transfer.

Manchester United were also said to have beamed their searchlight on the veteran goalkeeper as they look to get a replacement for David De Gea who has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid from next season. Paris Saint Germain are also in the chase.

Cech would prefer Arsenal over the likes of Manchester United and PSG because joining the Gunners will only make a little difference in his routine. He and his family want to remain in London which means Arsenal will be his likely destination.

Ordinarily a club like PSG would have blown Arsenal off by presenting a tempting offer but that will not work out this time. Why? Cech wants to continue in London. He wants to avoid the stress that goes with relocation.

The Blues want a fee in the region of £10million which Arsenal are ready to part with. If he joins Arsenal, then Wojciech Szczesny will have to leave on loan to Southampton where he would stand in for Fraser Forster who injury will make to miss a greater part of next season.

Arsenal who are long-term admirers of Cech made a move to get him during the last January transfer season but were unsuccessful. This time, they will hope to make total progress.

Cech's agent has also confirmed interests in the goalkeeper and admitted the man whose birthday is today is desperately in need of an exit from Stamford Bridge.

Kolar said: "Arsenal, United and PSG are all top clubs. And Petr would like to join one of them - definitely."
