BREAKING NEWS: Jack Wilshere Wins Best Goal of the Season Award.

England international, Jack Wilshere is happy to have had his goal voted as the best in the BBC Goal of the Season competition.

Wilshere scored a thunderous volley for Arsenal against West Brom on Sunday in his 100th Premier League appearance and despite being a last day goal, it was still able to win majority of the votes ahead of other goals scored earlier in the season.

This means that the midfielder is winning this contest for the second consecutive time having scooped it up last season too. Charlie Adams' long range effort against Chelsea from his own area and Juan Mata's volley against Liverpool could not go ahead of Wilshere's.

At the end of the online competition, Wilshere secured 34 per cent of the total votes, courtesy a cooperative effort from Arsenal fans.

The 23-year-old's contribution to a superb league goal against Norwich City in October 2013 made him win the prize for last season. The one of yesterday was far crazier than the former and it was what everyone had on their lips all through the day. There's this Manchester United friend of mine who couldn't stop saying 'That Wilshere goal was a bang!' Even the grasses on the pitch and the net can attest to this.

After being announced winner of the just concluded season's edition, Wilshere took to Twitter to express his joy and thanked the Arsenal fans for always being there for him.

"Two years in a row, thanks Gooners love you all lots, the Arsenal youth academy product wrote.

The FA Cup final will come up this weekend and it is quite worrisome to know that Jack will most likely not start that match despite impressing in his last few games after making a return from a long-term ankle injury. It is not as if he is not good enough but the competition in the team is just too tense at the moment.

If you were Arsene Wenger, what decision will you make for the FA Cup final lineup, will you give Wilshere a start ahead of someone like Ramsey? Let us hear you via the comment box.
