Manchester City Midfielder Rejects Arsenal Bid.

Even though he is guaranteed of Champions League action at the Emirates Stadium, game-starved Manchester City midfielder has reportedly declined an Arsenal move for a Liverpool summer transfer.

This is strange as it is unusual for any player to act as James Milner has done. Snubbing a club who will play in the Champions League next season and also have higher chances of challenging for the title for a lesser team is quite ridiculous.

However, his decision can still br justified when viewed from a different angle. Since James Milner is leaving Man City because he hardly gets playtime in his favourite central midfield position, it will be quite foolish for him to join a team where he will find it hard to seal a regular spot. Arsenal already have a lot of quality in midfield compared to Liverpool who are going to lose Steven Gerrard. He will surely get more regular starts with the Reds than he will get with the Gunners.

The 29-year-old's contract will expire this July and Manuel Pellegrini stated after his side's win over Southampton that an offer has already been given to the midfielder and that what remains is for Milner to decide if he will stay at the Etihad or not.

Pellegrini said: "James said he was taking the decision at the end of the season. He is a very important player and he gave us a lot of spirit in this year but he must decide what is better for him."
