Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Napoli over the availability of former Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain.
Arsenal representatives have already met with the player's agent but Napoli have asked Arsenal to increase their bid above €40million which is the amount the Gunners are willing to part with, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Higuain headed to Napoli in the summer of 2013 after the Italian side beat Arsenal to his signing by offering a larger amount. Real Madrid were interested in doing business with the highest bidder so Napoli ended up being the lucky side.
But as we speak, Napoli will not be playing in the Champions League next season and this has made Higuain openly express his disgust and has requested for a transfer.
The door is now wide open for Arsene Wenger to sign his long-term target as he continues his hunt to get someone who can assist Olivier Giroud.
The source who revealed this news are well known for breaking transfer news so we believe there is really something going on between the two parties.
