Arsenal Representatives Meet With German Club for Defender Talks.

Baba Rahman Arsenal

According to German newspaper, Bild, Arsenal are interested in and are willing to sign Baba Rahman from Augsburg. Representatives from London were involved in talks with officials of the club last week as Arsenal continue in their hunt for another left-back.

Despite already having Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs in that department, Arsene Wenger still wants to bring in the 20-year-old in order to increase competition in that position.

Rahman was a regular for Augsburg last season and his show of class was what drew Arsenal's attention to him. Other Premier League sides like Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be on the lookout for the young talented defender.

Rahman is a Ghanaian. He made 29 appearances for his club in the 2014/15 season. He still has a contract that should see him at the SGL Arena till 2019 but with the financial power possessed by Arsenal, they have high chances of luring him to the Emirates.

Bild state that a three-way stand-off for the player’s services is set to ensue, with the defender likely to leave his current employers ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.
