Arsenal Set To Complete Transfer of 26-Year-Old This Week.

Arsenal are on the verge of completing a transfer for Colombian international goalkeeper, David Ospina, according to reports.

The Gunners sealed the signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea about twenty-four hours ago, meaning they now have three first team goalkeepers at their disposal. All are in the national team of their respective countries so it would be difficult to keep them all at the club. Doing so will deprive maybe one of them of playing regularly so Arsenal have thought it wise to sell one of them.

Since Wojciech Szczesny will remain as a deputy to Petr Cech, Ospina is the one to depart the Emirates. There are a string of clubs interested in him and his classy displays at the Copa America have made many others join in the race. The two clubs in strong contention for him are Fenerbahce and Marseille.

The star might return to France as Marseille are prepared to rival Fenerbahce who were the first to make a move. A tough battle is expected to ensue between these sides for the acquisition of the 26-year-old.

Ospina was influential for Arsenal in the second half of last season. He took Szczesny's position as number one goalkeeper and his wish was that he will remain there for a long time but with the arrival of Cech, he will now have to step down for the rightful owner of that spot.

The goalkeeper will meet with Arsene Wenger this week and have a discussion. He will decide over his future and it is believed that his transfer will be announced this week.
