Arsenal Star Wins Ambassador of the Year Award.

Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has once again been recognized for his charity work. He has been named the German Football Ambassador for the year 2015.

The German international contributed to the Gunners' success in the FA Cup and after the triumph, he donated his prize money to help burn victims in Africa. He ended up as winner when fans voted and for this reason, he has been celebrated.

Reacting to the honour he received, Ozil said: “Thank you for this great award. It means a lot to me especially because it was voted for by the fans. I’m also very proud that I can accept this prize”, Ozil told Deutsche Welle.

“Many people don’t have the opportunity to enjoy life. Our goal is simply to create a bit of a better future for them. That is our aim.”

“People that are close to me know that I love to help and spend time with children. I spoke to my team and for example, we would also like to use the prize money to help burn victims in Africa.”

Those who had won this award in the past include USA national coach, Jürgen Klinsmann, and former German international, Thomas Hitzlsperger.

Ozil who won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil also donated his bonus to twenty-three Brazilian children who were in need of life-saving surgery. As a result, he was given the Laureus Sport for Good Award by the organisation in December.

Nice move from the Arsenal man. It's good to see our own player trying his best to see to the welfare of others. God loves the cheerful giver. He will surely reward you. Keep up the good works.
