Arsene Wenger Closing in On World Class Striker Signing.

Arsene Wenger is monitoring happenings at Paris Saint Germain as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to dash out of the club, reports Tuttomercatoweb.

The Sweden international is said to be unhappy at PSG and is being linked with a return to AC Milan although Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are also planning to make bids for him.

Despite his high class and quality, Tuttomercatoweb claims that Paris Saint Germain are willing to sell Ibrahimovic, who has only one year remaining on his contract, for a cutdown price of just £11 million.

In the just concluded season, Ibrahimovic scored 30 goals in 35 appearances for PSG, helping the French club win a domestic treble and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The 33-year-old is currently preparing for an international friendly against Norway on Monday night.

Wenger is expected to try and add to his attacking options this summer: his No1 centre-forward Olivier Giroud came under pressure at the end of the season after a barren run of form, with much of the burden of scoring falling on Alexis Sanchez.

It remains to be seen if Wenger will want to sign someone who has gone beyond the age of 30. Another issue Arsenal may face in his pursuit is his wage demands. Ibra is also known to be a player with much ego and might not be easily controlled by a calm manager like Wenger.
