Spanish Star Says He Does Not Want To Leave Arsenal.

Arsenal defender who joined the Gunners from Malaga in the year 2013 has revealed he is staying at the club, amid rumours that he is wanted by Athletic Bibao.

Nacho Monreal won the love of many Arsenal fans last season for his neat defending in the absence of Kieran Gibbs. He was in the squad that beat Aston Villa in the FA Cup final at Wembley last Saturday.

The 29-year-old has only one year remaining on his current contract and is being linked with a return to the La Liga but in a recent interview at an Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai, the star stated that he will stay to help the Gunners win the Premier League and many other titles.

“I have one more year on my contract and I would like to stay at Arsenal,” said Monreal, who travelled to the UAE with the FA Cup trophy Arsenal won at the weekend to make a guest appearance at Dubai’s Arsenal Soccer Schools.

"If the boss [Arsene Wenger] wants me to stay, I will do. I am very lucky to play for Arsenal, I am very happy playing and I would like to stay longer.

“We are in contact with the club because my main intention is to stay in Arsenal. I hope I can extend my stay for more years.”
