Arsenal to Complete Transfer of Forward Today.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski will be signing for Galatasaray today, according to reports from the Turkish club.

The Turkish giants have agreed a deal which will see the German international leave the Emirates Stadium after three years in England. He will undergo a medical this afternoon after which the transfer will be sealed.

Podolski, joined Arsenal from Cologne for £10million in 2012 and has since then made 82 appearances, scoring 31 goals in the process.

He was a part of the Arsenal squad which helped to win the 2013/14 FA Cup but was unfortunately not available in last season's edition as he was on loan at Inter Milan. He failed to make any tangible impact at the Serie A club which was the reason why they refused to sign him permanently.

On his return from Inter, it did not look as if he would get any chance in the team so he decided to go elsewhere. According to what was revealed by a top source yesterday, Arsene Wenger wanted him to remain at the club but the 30-year-old did not yield to such plea.

I will say Podolski made the right choice because the situation wouldn't be any different from what it was before he embarked on that 6-month loan spell in Italy. He left because he wasn't playing and since the players who hindered his chances of regular play are still at Arsenal, the story will likely remain the same. The presence of the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would mean he will find it hard to feature in games.
