Arsenal club director Lord Harris has stated that Arsene Wenger has the financial backing to sign any player he wants except Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
In the last few seasons, the Arsenal boss had been hindered from spending big during transfer because of the Emirates Stadium deal but now that the debt had been fully settled, the 65-year-old now has more than enough money to spend on potential signings.
Arsenal have been able to splash the cash in the last two seasons with the signing of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for £42.5m and £35m respectively and with the club's current financial stability, Harris does not think money should be the problem in the transfer market.
"We would back him to break the club's transfer record. If he wanted the man, he could have him," he told the Daily Mail.
"Apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he could have any player."
