Arsene Wenger is still hunting for a world class striker in order to make Arsenal deadly in front of goal. Yes, we got Olivier Giroud but he is not the type goalkeepers and defenders dread so much. He lacks the kind of venom a top club like us need.
This guy the boss is after is no other person that Karim Benzema of Real Madrid. By now, you should have heard of our interest in the Frenchman. We have been seeing various news linking him with a possible switch to the Emirates Stadium and right now, it has been revealed that Wenger has contacted the player via a phone call.
The call was made directly to Benzema to try to persuade the star to join the Gunners. The next few days will let us know if there is any hope of us securing the transfer of the prolific striker.
Having signed Petr Cech from Chelsea, Wenger is looking to add more quality in order to enable his side mount a serious title challenge by the time the 2015/16 season begins next month.
