Austin Jay-Jay Okocha Praises Arsenal Youngster.

A new face was seen in Arsenal's first team when they defeated a Singapore XI side in the Barclays Asia Trophy on Wednesday. That person is Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi is a 19-year-old midfielder who has once been the captain of the Arsenal U21 team and also made appearances for the England U16, U17 and U18 sides.

His development accelerated over the past year, and he showed an eye for goal himself by netting a hat-trick for the under-21s late in the season.

He made his first team debut as the Gunners won their first game in the Barclays Asia Trophy to move straight to the final of the contest which will hold this Saturday. Iwobi impressed in that match with his link-ups with Chuba Akpom who bagged a hat-trick.

Reacting to his nephew's performance, Nigerian football legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha said on Twitter: "Feeling head over hills watching my nephew Alex Iwobi live with Arsenal against Singapore eleven in pre-season. Great stuff son!"

It is not surprising to see Iwobi with such talents since he is from the lineage of a football great. If he will replicate the abilities of his uncle, then Arsenal have got a big asset in their possession.
