New goalkeeper recruit, Petr Cech has revealed he is so keen on playing his first game for Arsenal.
The Czech Republic international made a switch from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates last month and is looking forward to the day when he will make his first appearance between the sticks for the Gunners.
Ahead of Arsenal's tour to Singapore for the Barclays Asia Trophy, the 33-year-old spoke to the official website on his hunger for success. He wants to contribute in no small measure to the team's hunt for trophies as soon as the opportunity springs up.
“I’m really looking forward to starting training and being a part of the team," the star who won four FA Cups, four Premier League medals, a Champions League and Europa Cup trophy said. "It’s always the first step."
“The first game is very important for me so [I want to] get that under my belt as soon as possible. To get that feeling of how it is to be part of the team [is important] and it’s my first chance to get to know everybody.
“I think the tour is important because as a team you want to win games. Although you work hard on fitness in pre-season, it’s always good to get wins so if you can go and win your first few games and get used to winning, it’s the best thing.
“I’m looking forward to that because it’s the first opportunity to get that winning feeling at the start of the season.”
Cech has already passed a medical prior to his signing. He is expected to resume training with the rest of the team as preparations are ongoing for the start of the 2015/16 campaign which kicks-off in August.
