Former Premier League playmaker and Nigerian football legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has once again heaved praise on his nephew, Alex Iwobi after the youngster made an impressive Emirates debut.
Iwobi was on target on Saturday as Arsenal thrashed Olympique Lyon 6-0 in the Emirates Cup. The 19-year-old scored the Gunners' third goal in a clash which recorded six different scorers.
Having previously shown delight over his nephew's progress at Arsenal after he featured in our 4-0 win over a Singapore XI side, Okocha has shown up with another Twitter update which goes a long way to tell us how impressed he is with Iwobi and Arsene Wenger.
"My Nephew Alex Iwobi marked his Emirate's debut with a goal", said the 42-year-old on Twitter. "Great stuff Alex.. Wenger is really doing a great job with the young star."
Okocha also made mention of his admiration of another Arsenal youngster in person of Chuba Akpom. Akpom's dad is a close friend to Jay-Jay. According to him Akpom is also on the right track, following his hat-trick in pre-season.
"Chuba Akpom whose dad is a good friend of mine is also on the right course," the ex-Bolton Wanderers star continued. "A heart trick in their Asian trip says a lot about what to come."
These two stars despite their performance in pre-season will still have to do more if they are to make an unerasable mark at Arsenal.
