Arsenal are on the verge of losing one of their best players to Atletico Madrid as Arsene Wenger is eyeing one of their stars. Santi Cazorla may join Atletico just to make sure Arda Turan signs for Arsenal, according to the Telegraph.
The Turkish star has been linked to many European clubs among which Arsenal belong. From what is being speculated, the Gunners will have to make it a swap deal because the Spanish club want Cazorla to be theirs from next season, so it's like 'give us Cazorla and get Turan'. The player's agent, Ahmet Bulut also confirmed the news which stated that Turan is about to leave the Vicente Calderon but refused to go into detail.
“We want to clarify that at this time there is a lot of pressure about this situation but we don’t want to make a formal statement about his destination before he signs. That being said, in the next four days Arda will decide which team he’ll play for next season", the agent of the 28-year-old said.
Cazorla's departure from the Emirates Stadium will put grief in the hearts of many fans who see the Spanish international as a very vital figure at the club. He was so influential for Arsenal in the 2014/15 campaign and that was arguably his best season since joining from Malaga in the summer of 2012. His loss will be greatly felt if what is being reported happens.
However bad Arsenal fans will feel over the sale of Cazorla, Turan's signing may go someway to soften their hearts. The Turkish captain is a midfielder who loves to dribble with the ball and has great composure when on the field of play.
Turan who has made 81 caps for Turkey will now decide whether to join Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United or Paris Saint Germain in the next 48hours.
If this is left for me to decide, I will rather keep Cazorla and let Turan go elsewhere. What's the use selling out a player who is doing well in order to bring in another who plays in almost the same position? Over to you reader, what's your take on this?
