Why Arsenal Will Not Miss Alexis Sanchez.

Ray Parlour is confident Arsenal will be able to cope without the services of Alexis Sanchez when the season begins in August.

The Chilean international will miss the first few opening games for the Gunners as he has been given an extended holiday to ease off stress. He joined his national side for the Copa America tournament immediately after winning the FA Cup for Arsenal and now needs to take some rest.

According to Parlour, the 26-year-old who helped Chile win the Copa America trophy for the first time will not be greatly missed in the Arsenal team since there are other players who can play in that position.

“No [Arsenal won’t struggle without Sanchez],” said Parlour, speaking on behalf of Carlsberg, the Official Beer of the Premier League.

“I think they’ve got enough players in that position who can play a role there – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck…

“I think they’re well capable of coping without Sanchez – and they can’t just rely on one man.

“During the season, there might be a time when he’s out for two months. There have to be players ready to step into his position.

“It won’t be a problem at all and Arsene Wenger always gives you a good rest during the summer, makes sure you can recharge your batteries and get ready for the new season.”

Sanchez is due to report back to the club for the new season's preparation by August 3. He isn't expected to play against Westham United.
