Arsenal Defender Temporarily Converts to Goalkeeper.

So funny today how our right-back, Carl Jenkinson had to become a goalkeeper as Westham United were beaten 2-1 by Leicester City.

Having made all the three substitutions they had as at when the Hammers' goalkeeper, Adrian was sent off in the 90th minute, Jenkinson had to move in between the sticks.

Adrian committed a second bookable offence when he attempted to prevent a corner from going in. He was sent off for a high boot as he tried to send the ball out of his area.

Slaven Bilic then deployed 23-year-old Jenko in the goalpost for the remaining part of the game. He did not have to do much because his side were on the quest to grab an equaliser which they ended up not getting.

In a post-match interview with pressmen, the English international talked about the referee's decision and also his experience as a shotstopper.

“I thought the red card was a bit harsh, it was a high foot but I am sure it was accidental.”

“I ended up in goal but fortunately I didn’t have too much to do.”

Trust football lovers to create memes when such things happen. Many Arsenal fans took to Twitter to comment on Jenkinson's temporary role. Some made jokes out of it. There was one fan who gave a stat which made a comparison between Petr Cech and the Arsenal defender. He was stressing the fact that this season, both of them have made 1 appearance each as goalkeepers and while Cech hasn't been able to keep a clean sheet so far, Jenkinson has. Lol.

Another one predicted that at the end of the season, Jenkinson will be the only player to have kept a clean sheet all through the season.

That's all on that! Tomorrow is our game against Crystal Palace. A win is all we require after losing three points to Westham in our opening game last week. Go Gunners!
