Justice has prevailed as Chelsea striker, Diego Costa has been given a three-match ban by the English Football Association.
The Spanish international escaped being sent off on various occasions during his side's encounter with Arsenal last weekend . The most crazy of them all was that in which he slapped Laurent Koscielny on the face.
It was quite unfortunate that Gabriel Paulista who intervened was red carded while the Chelsea striker who started the provocation was left alone.
The FA after watching some clips from the match issued a charge which when he replied to, Costa pleaded 'not guilty'. In spite of that, he has been hammered as all indications showed that he deserved punishment for his display of mass irresponsibility.
Gabriel Paulista on the other hand has won an appeal and his three-match ban has been cancelled. However, he still has a pending case which we are still awaiting the FA's judgement on. This charge came as a result of his refusal to leave the pitch on time when Mike Dean showed him red.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Gabriel are all likely to be fined at the end of it all. More details will follow as soon as possible.
