Arsenal Injury News: Wenger Confirms Double Boost + Welbeck, Wilshere and Sanchez Update

Arsene Wenger ahead of his side's weekend game in the Premier League has revealed the state of his squad. At his pre-match press conference, he gave injury updates, stating who will and will not be available for the trip to Watford this Saturday.

The manager confirmed what was reported here some days back regarding the return of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta. The duo are now fully fit and available for selection this weekend.

There is still uncertainty over the fitness of Laurent Koscielny. His inclusion in the lineup on that day will depend on scan results. He got a hamstring injury in Arsenal's 2-1 loss at the end of September and was tipped to return after three weeks but it seems he is getting ahead of time.

On long term absentees Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere, the Frenchman gave good news that they are progressing well in their comeback process. A January return date was set for the former.

We may not see Alexis Sanchez in action this Saturday because he is nursing a hip problem which he sustained against Manchester United some weeks back. To even make matters worse, he was used in both of Chile's World Cup qualifier games during the international break and this will no doubt have added to his woes.

Wenger said he will be assessed to ascertain how serious the issue is but one thing is certain; the manager would not want to take any risks on his best star so if he is not fully fit, he will be rested. The medical team will try to make him okay before Tuesday when Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
