As Arsene Wenger is eyeing important swoops by January, so are other managers looking for ways to snap up players from other clubs. The Arsenal manager as usual has stated that he will sign only 'top players' this winter and the fans are greatly anticipating.
From the Mirror, we have gotten information that Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem is a loan-extension target by Rangers. He signed a half-season long loan deal with the Scottish side and as earlier agreed, the deal should come to a close by December but Rangers' boss Mark Warburton wants him to remain with them because of his top form since making that move.
“So far, we are in good shape,” said Warburton. “The feedback from Arsenal has been very positive. and hopefully, we are closing to securing him.”
“The current deal is until January, but, as long as everyone is happy, we will extend that.” the Rangers boss added
“I have been delighted with his contribution and the last game he played for Rangers was his best so far.
“We have a great relationship with Arsenal and our job is to make sure they know their asset is being developed properly.”
It is however believed that Arsene Wenger is set to block the loan extension as he wants the talented midfielder back. His services are greatly needed now that the number of injuries at Arsenal keeps skyrocketing. The Gunners want to sign him to a new contract.
