Arsene Wenger Gives Update on Injured Duo

Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest injury update on stars who had problems during Arsenal's game with Westbromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Gunners failed to leave with at least a point and ended up crashing down to fourth spot on the League table. Manchester City also could not maintain their lead at the top as they were heavily thumped 4-1 by Liverpool.

Aside losing all three points, Arsenal also recorded two injuries in that game and while one is to a player who might not be greatly missed, (Mikel Arteta) the other (Le Coq) was sustained by a vital contributor whose loss might dent Arsenal's title hopes for the season.

Francis Coquelin did not last up to 15 minutes on the pitch. He got a knock after attempting a slide tackle and even though it looked like a minor injury, the medical team advised that he be taken off.

His replacement Mikel Arteta also got injured and was subbed for Mathieu Flamini.

As at press time yesterday, it was not yet clear how long the duo will be out. Arsene Wenger only confirmed that Arteta's is a calf injury which he does not expect to keep him sidelined for long. He however stated that he will have to wait for scans before giving an ideal statement on this.

"We have two more injuries," said the Frenchman. "One is a muscle problem for Arteta and the other one is a knee problem and I don’t know how serious that is but we will know certainly tomorrow, for Coquelin. Arteta is a calf."

By tomorrow, we will know how serious both injuries are and their respective spans. Let's just hope it's nothing serious.
