Jack Wilshere Sparks Transfer Speculation in Interview

The number 9 jersey became vacant at Arsenal when Lukas Podolski made a switch to Galatasaray as a result of lack of games and since then, no one has been given that number.

It was expected by many fans during the summer transfer window that the club would sign a top striker who would occupy that space. Unfortunately, that dream is still pending at the moment.

While we are still awaiting the arrival of a new occupant, Jack Wilshere has done something that made many assume that a new signing is on his way to the Emirates Stadium. He was spotted in an interview wearing the number 9 shirt instead of his usual number 10, so speculations went viral that he is dropping the number 10 for someone else.

It usually does not occur that a player's squad number is changed mid-season which is why it is strange to see him in that kit. Why one may have to take this serious is because Hector Bellerin, Per Mertesacker and Calum Chambers were also in that video with their normal numbers.

Why exactly the English international was on that kit is still a mystery. We shall soon know if it was just a mix-up or a new move to accommodate a new recruit.
