Wenger: What I Noticed After Watching Bayern Munich Replay

Arsene Wenger has restated his observation of happenings when Arsenal were trashed 3-1 in Matchday 4 of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

According to the Frenchman, his side were so weak in their defending, thus gifting the Bavarians the chance to penetrate through at various points during the encounter.

The hosts scooped a whopping 23 shots while Arsenal managed just seven and ended up being hurt in an encounter where they did not take their chances well.

“When you play against Bayern they are Bayern. I watched the game again and not a lot has changed since my analysis after the game", the 66-year-old said.

“I believe we created a high number of chances but we had not our usual defensive performance. Especially on the first two goals.

“They are maybe the best team in Europe but if we’d had our usual defensive performance we could have repeated our performance from the first two games.”

Arsenal will play their North-London rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as they hope to maintain their healthy contention for Premier League glory.
