Arsenal in Talks to Sign Barcelona Ace

Now that they are close to sealing the transfer of FC Basel's Mohamed Elneny who has already undergone and passed his medical, Arsenal are set to make a bid for Barcelona midfielder Sergi Samper.

According to Spanish outlet, Sport, the 20-year-old currently has a release clause of €12 million (£8.8m) on his contract but Arsenal are preparing a €6m (£4.4m) bid instead.

Club representatives are already in talks with Barcelona over the possible acquisition of Samper. The Spanish giants are also believed to be willing to sell out Sandro, a potential target for Tottenham Hotspur.

There should be no obstacle on the way for Arsene Wenger since the Catalan club are willing to do business for the right price, and reports claim that even though the dude is still 20, Wenger plans to bring him straight into the first team. He is not playing regularly at the Camp Nou and he himself will want the transfer to the Emirates.

The midfielder, a very good friend of Hector Bellerin, is a pass master though not that physical kind of player. He thrives based on technique and vision just like Mesut Ozil.

With the likes of Tomas Eosucky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini reportedly out of contract at the end of the season, Samper will have less problems establishing himself as a favourite in the first team.
