Arsenal Plot January Move for Ex-Midfielder

I bet many of you don't know this guy, especially those who were not yet fans of Arsenal Football Club at the time when he was still a Gunner. Even those who were fans during his time and didn't follow proceedings in the Junior Arsenal sides might not know him.

Havard Nortdveit was captain of the Arsenal side during the 2007/08 campaign, prior to being sent out on successive loans to Salamanca, Lillestrom and Nuremberg. After all the spells at these clubs, Arsenal were not satisfied with his progress rate, so they sold him to Borussia Monchengladbach for a fee of £800 000 in January 2011. Hm! What a mistake!

The Norweigian defensive midfielder has since stepped up his game and is doing exploits at his present club, and to fill the void left by the injured Francis Coquelin, Arsenal are planning to re-sign him by January, says the Express.

Arsenal suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat from the hands of Southampton on Boxing Day, a result which sprung up from the fact that they had a weak defensive midfield, hence the need for them to do something quickly.

With Mohamed Elneny of Basel already on the verge of making a January move to the Emirates, the addition of the 23-year-old Nordtveit will ensure that the team remain in the title race.

The only issue now is that one does not know if Nordtveit, despite being a top guy at his club, will be able to cope with the high pressure and demands of the English Premier League. Let's watch!.
