Arsenal Football club have announced the death of one of their own. The man in question was a close figure to the club while alive, and it is with great grief that we make this revelation.
Don Howe, an ex-Arsenal player and coach has passed away at the age of eighty after a battle with illness. He had a great influence on the Arsenal team during his five-decade service at the club, first as a player and later as a coach.
In his playing days, he was a full-back in the English national team. He made a £42 000 transfer from West Brom to Arsenal in April 1964 and made a total of 74 appearances for the Gunners, scoring only one goal before having his playing career terminated through a broken leg in March 1966.
From 1967 to 2003, he held various coaching roles at Arsenal and some other clubs. He retired from coaching in 2003 and that was at Arsenal. At the end of his coaching career, he had a lot of achievements to his name which is one of the reason why he will forever remain in the heart of those who know him.
The thoughts of everyone at Arsenal and in the footballing world as a whole are with his family. May God give them the heart to bear the loss.
